Berean Christian Church High School Group in the News
Murphysboro, IL / Saturday, June 28, 2014 11:04 AM - At Berean Christian Church in Murphysboro the High School Youth are connecting with their community by volunteering at the church and in their community and now want to raise funds so they can connect more with God.
The High School Youth at Berean Christian Church are holding a fundraiser this Sunday by serving spaghetti to the church for donations, but, that is just the tip of the iceberg for this group. The church has an after school program for area children called BASH. It involves after-school snacks, homework help, play time and supper. The high school age group assists with that program by providing homework help and with keeping an eye on the kids as they play.
Not only that, but the group also assist with the annual Vacation Bible School at Berean. The VBS program is one of the biggest and best attended in the region an through the high school students it grows in it's success every year.
But, the connection the group wishes to make is more than with the church and the community, they also have the goal to connect more with God and each other. To accomplish this they are trying to raise funds to attend CIY or Christ in Youth Conference that will be held at the Lake of the Ozarks. It will be a time that they can grow closer together and closer to God.
